Who we are
Croûte pizzas are Neapolitan style made with a sourdough crust. Our chef, Alexis, has had her sourdough starter since she finished her culinary training at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland and subsequently worked at a well-known sourdough bakery in San Francisco called Tartine. As a native New Yorker who grew up in northern New Jersey, pizza has always been in her blood and food has always been part of her world—she was a digital strategy executive at Food Network and Martha Stewart for many years. Ten years ago, she traded in her corporate life to get her hands dirty on a farm in southeastern Ireland and never looked back. She has written many cookbooks for Williams Sonoma and food-themed magazines for a trade publisher in New York City, but when she and her family moved to Columbus, Ohio a few years ago, she began focusing more on in-person events and cooking classes—and Croûte was born.
